ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THINGS TO GROW YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA AUDIENCE?

 

1. Be consistent.

 

Show up every day, stick to the same genre of content your followers are used to, and keep your visual aesthetic as consistent as possible. People are creatures of habit and they want you to be exactly who you say you are! And they want to see you in their feeds as often as possible. 

 

2. Create content specific to your audience.

 

This is where knowing your ideal client is so crucial. Know exactly who they are and what they want to hear. And then be sure to give them what they’re looking for in the content you create. 

 

3. Teach them something and honor their input.

 

I believe that you should always give more than you take when it comes to social media so be sure to give value to your followers. The best way to do this is to teach them something consistently and offer them opportunities to ask questions and share their input. 

 

4. Give them a behind-the-scenes glimpse.

 

If you want to gain trust with your audience, be sure to give them behind-the-scenes peeks into your daily work and personal life. People want to know you are a real human behind their computer screen so be sure to be as authentic as possible. I know that social media is a place for beautifully curated feeds but I also know that people need a healthy balance of “real life” so they can relate to you! 

 

5. Create daily reels. 

 

There. I said it. The thing I always swore I would never do and now I’m telling you to do it daily. But here’s the thing. I’ve lived it. Refusing to do reels and seeing no growth. And then finally giving in, creating them consistently, and seeing real growth, from real people that stick around. So don’t be like me. Give the people what they want and create reels that serve your brand and post them as often as possible!

 

No matter how many blogs you read or courses you complete to help you grow your audience on social media, always remember that the most important thing you can do is to be yourself. People are craving real, authentic interactions and if you can be the person to give that to them, you will always win. Be a friend, create a community, and offer support where you can.
