Something you may not know about me is that one of my first jobs as an entrepreneur was working as a professional photographer. What started as a love for photos in high school turned into a pretty awesome professional career that helped to jump-start all of the work I do today. In the interview, I share five great tips that anyone can follow to take better photos, even from a smartphone! 

1. You don’t need a fancy digital camera to get a good photograph. 
2. Find the best light. 
3. Make sure that your image is in focus. 
4. Make sure your background isn’t distracting to your subject. 
5. Spend time editing your photo.

No matter what business you hope to pursue, whether its a professional photography business or becoming a graphic designer, or even owning a local coffee shop, I have a word of advice:

“Know your craft and don’t try to do it all. It’s easy to say yes to everything but you need to focus on what you love and learn to create boundaries. Discovering your ability to say no when it’s necessary will change your entire life. You simply can’t, nor should you, try to do everything and understanding that will help you continue to love your craft long into the future.”
