Do you ever feel like you don’t know what to write when it comes to sharing your life and business online? Yes? Great. I’m happy I’m not alone.
It can be so hard to know what to write, how to write, and when to write, and sometimes that overwhelm keeps me from even showing up at all. And we all know that not showing up is one of the worst things we can do for the growth of our business. But what in the world do we write about?
I took some time to write out the top 100 things to share about life and business and am making it a goal to work through these prompts throughout the year.
I work so much better when I have a plan so if you’re anything like me, I made them available for you to SNAG HERE!
But simply knowing what to write is only half the battle. How do we write in a way that people want to read it?
I certainly don’t have all the answers, but there are a few things I always keep in mind when writing:
- Keep it short. Keep it sweet. In such a fast-paced world, people don’t save much of their time to read lengthy text. Be sure to keep it short and meaningful!
- Hook them right from the start. This can be starting your text out with a question or a freebie or even a piece of information they have to have more of.
- Bring them into your life. Write as if they are the only person you’re sharing this information with by speaking directly to them.
- Be real. Don’t try to write like your favorite author or online influencer. Write as yourself, with words you would use on a daily basis. If you wouldn’t say it, don’t put it into text.
- Don’t overthink it. Just get to writing. Don’t worry about anything other than sharing your heart and your story. Your authenticity will always shine through and that’s what people want more of!
Most importantly, use your platform to share who you are. If you make that your focus, you’ll never feel stuck on knowing what to say. But just in case you do, my list of 100 writing prompts, will help equip you to show up and serve your audience for months to come!
