In this episode, we’re digging deep into setting limits and creating boundaries for yourself and others when running a business.
I used to think people set limits and boundaries simply because they were lazy.
I know, I know. Nothing could be further from the truth. I get that now. But I used to believe boundaries kept people from working too hard. I wanted to do it all and I believed that I could. Until one day I couldn’t anymore and learned the most valuable lesson in my entire career. Setting boundaries and knowing my limits didn’t make me lazy, they made me smart. And sane. And happy. And successful. Anything but lazy.
But If you’re anything like me, you love to keep the peace and please all of the people so I know that those two simple words, limits and boundaries, give you nervous sweats. But I promise you, they are nothing to be afraid of. Spoiler alert: You can still please people by honoring your own needs. In fact, I’d even argue that you can’t serve people well until you honor yourself, so take a deep breath and relax, you can do this! Limits and boundaries exist to keep the peace for everyone, I promise.
