I’ve been talking a lot about ways to connect with your audience in order to gain faithful followers but, how can you ensure you’re always getting in front of a new, fresh audience? 

It may be easier than you think! Are you ready for it?

Become a guest. 

It’s that simple. Reach out to friends, followers, and fellow entrepreneurs and ask if you can be a guest in front of their followers. This allows you to get in front of a brand new audience that you’ve never had access to before and the hope is that they’ll love you so much, they’ll come connect with you!

But what does that look like? I’m so glad you asked! There are a few different ways to secure a guest spot in front of other audiences.

1. Write a guest blog. Create a blog post sharing about your brand, teaching about your offerings, and offering value and then ask fellow bloggers to share your post on their page. 
2. Get interviewed on a podcast. Do you have any friends that have a podcast? Ask them if they would be willing to interview you sharing about your area of expertise! 
3. Submit articles to be featured in magazines or ebooks. A quick google search will help you discover tons of companies looking to feature your work. Submit an article or blog that they can publish to their audience. 
4. Participate in Instagram takeovers. Gather a group of friends and set up a takeover where you show up on their feed and in their stories for a day to share your work with their audience. 

Now, there are two very important rules when it comes to making these collaborations successful.

1. Be sure you are collaborating with people in your niche with your same ideal client. If you sell flowers, it doesn’t do you any good to be featured on a site that sells welding equipment. Your offering would not create value to that audience and it would not help you engage or connect with the right people. Instead look to collaborate with florists, event coordinators, brides, and photographers. Stay in your lane and stick to your similar tribe of ideal clients!
2. For every guest spot you request, offer to return the favor and allow them to be a guest on your page, blog, or newsletter. It’s simply considerate etiquette, but it also creates added value for your followers and ideal clients. And the more value you can offer, the better! Collaboration over competition will always take you far!
