I talk a lot about using the Enneagram to help you build a successful business simply because I believe that knowing yourself is the best way to truly know your business. And when you know your business inside and out, it’s really hard to fail.

When you know exactly who you are and what you have to offer you begin to understand your hidden talents and today I want to help you uncover the hidden talent that just might benefit your business. 

And by “just might,” I mean it absolutely will, so let’s dive into the hidden talents for all nine types. For today, let’s look types 1-5, shall we?  But head to this blog post to learn about Types 6-9!

Type 1: Patience 

Patience is a virtue. And not all people have it. But lucky for all of the Enneagram ones of the world, they come fully equipped with the patience needed to handle the roller coaster ride that is entrepreneurship. 

But why do I consider patience a hidden talent? Do you really need it to run a business? I mean, yeah, it’ll really come in handy. I promise. 

Having patience allows you to work at a steady pace. You aren’t easily thrown off guard and your world isn’t wrecked when your product is delayed or your website is taking longer to create than you thought. It helps you to realize the fruits of your labor long before anyone else and makes it easy to keep your eye on the prize. Something that so many entrepreneurs struggle to do. 

If you are an Enneagram One, don’t sleep on this hidden gem of a talent. Use it to your advantage and encourage everyone on your team, your customers included, to focus on patience in every situation. 

Type 2: Compassion 

Compassion is a dying art. You see it, I see it, everyone sees it. Focusing on the bottom line of running a business has caused so many entrepreneurs to lose their sense of compassion and consumers are feeling it in big ways. 

So yeah, being an Enneagram Two and being naturally equipped with the desire to please and care for others will take you incredibly far in your business. And you have a huge window of opportunity to open those doors and run with it. 

Consumers want a great product, sure, but they also want to feel seen. They also want to know that their purchase with you holds far more than monetary value and the Enneagram Twos of the world can do this with ease. 

If you are an Enneagram Two, stay hyper focused on your desire to care for others. Your customers and your followers will feel it and they will follow you anywhere in return for your compassion! 

Type 3: Energy

Who couldn’t use more energy these days? I know I sure could and I am always envious of an Enneagram Three’s ability to stay upbeat and excited about anything they put their minds to! 

Running your own business requires an incredible amount of energy and not everyone is naturally high energy without trying, so being an Enneagram Three and always being able to stay energetic and enthused about work is an incredible super power. 

Having high energy will fuel you through the long days and sleepless nights, the dips and valleys of running a business, and the times when most people just wouldn’t be feeling it. 

If you are an Enneagram Three and have been told to tone down the energy, please know that your high energy is in fact your hidden talent and it will take you so far in life and in business. 

Type 4: Creativity 

I know creative people don’t understand this, but not everyone is creative. Not everyone is able to look at a blank canvas and see a work of art. Not everyone is able to start a brand new business and have 700 ideas for how to make it successful. Being creative is such a gift and one Enneagram Fours should never take for granted. 

Having a creative mind will help you elevate your business above all of the rest. The ability to think outside of the box and do things your own way without having to replicate others will ensure success for any entrepreneur. 

If you are an Enneagram Four and creativity is second nature to you, please understand what a gift that is! Use your creative thinking to your advantage and don’t be afraid to step outside of the box and color outside of the lines. Your business will flourish when you have something unique to offer and Enneagram Fours are the perfect people to make that happen! 

Type 5: Wisdom

Having the gift of wisdom goes beyond having the smarts to create a profitable business. Sure, that’s super important for running a business, but a wise leader possesses certain skills that go beyond everyday requirements. 

Enneagram Fives have the skills needed to make the best decisions for their business. Many people actually struggle with knowing what choice is right and oftentimes they are simply winging it, hoping something sticks. But for all of the fives out there, they are fully equipped with the ability to make sound decisions with confidence and ease. And I don’t know about you, but that’s a skill I would love to have in my arsenal! 

If you are an Enneagram Five, I hope you understand just how important your wisdom is to the success of your business. Don’t take your decision making lightly and trust that this hidden talent should be relied on heavily when it comes to the day-in and day-out operations of your business. 

So there you have it, my ones through fives, your hidden talents in business!

I hope this has helped you recognize your strengths when it comes to running your business and I want to encourage you today to grab onto those talents and run with them. No one else is you and that’s your superpower, so take advantage of it!
