Today let’s talk about building a brand that lasts! Marketing and branding are the same thing, right?
Wrong.
Branding is at the core of your marketing strategy but it is not the same thing.
Branding includes things like your logo, digital aesthetic on social media, websites, and blogs, uniforms, business cards, marketing materials, and even your approach to customer service.
It is how you hope to be perceived in the public eye and how you train your audience to know when they see content from you! Because of this, branding must come before marketing. You can’t communicate with your audience before you know who you are and what you want to share.

It’s really so simple that it can be summed up in one word.
Make sure your words are congruent, your message is predictable, your branding is cohesive, and your presence is consistent.
While consistency in all aspects of your business is important, I want to focus on social media as it is the platform every successful business owner is using these days to get ahead.
Your focus here is to create content that is relevant for your audience and adds value to their life. And your ultimate goal is to get them to engage with the content you share. This is why it’s so important to know your ideal client and understand how to speak to them.

I know that’s so hard. I know life gets busy and showing up on social media takes a back seat. But don’t lose sight of the fact that social media isn’t just a place for you to see cute pictures of your friend’s kids, it’s a place where you conduct business, so be sure to show up there as often as possible.
This doesn’t just mean that your photos should “look like you.” This also includes the length of your post, the style of your pictures, and the use of hashtags.
Make sure you are creating clean, visually pleasing photos to match your content. Humans are naturally drawn to attractive images and will stop for captivating photos that make them feel something.
I know it feels like a lot but take your time with this. It doesn’t have to happen overnight. Start with consistent content, then move on to adding in hashtags, and then spend some time revamping your images and making sure they follow a theme that matches your brand. But just remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will your social media presence. Nurture it, water it, and show up in some capacity each and every day.
