Traveling. It’s one of my greatest passions in life. I work best when I have a trip to look forward to and because I am so motivated by travel, I knew I had to find a job that allowed me to work from anywhere. 

What would life look like for you if you could make money anywhere your feet are? 

Would you be on the beach? Snuggled up on your couch? Or maybe like me, would you find yourself on a two-week adventure to Europe?

It’s 2023 and the sky is honestly the limit when it comes to where and how you make money, but to stay successful you have to find what motivates you most. Because I’ll be honest, working from anywhere is incredibly fulfilling, but it’s hard to stay motivated when you aren’t bound to the confines of a 9-5 career. 

When the days seem long and the work feels impossible, it’s really important that we have something to push us, something to remind us of our purpose at the moment, something to look forward to when all the work is over. 

Yeah, yeah, I know, as entrepreneurs the work is never over, but working towards a goal or a resting point is crucial for long-term success.  We can’t simply work for the sake of working, we have to find things that make the work worth it. And the “worth it” is going to be different for each one of us. For me, “worth it” has a lot of different meanings, but travel is one of the “rewards” that help push me forward.

I knew that if I wanted to live a life of travel I had to find a way to work from anywhere and that’s exactly what I did.

3 WAYS TO WORK FROM ANYWHERE

Become an affiliate marketer. 

There are a million different ways to do this. You can sign up for an affiliate link with Amazon or other big box retailers, become an affiliate for your favorite small shops, or jump on board with a direct sales company. Create Digital Content.

You can literally create digital content for anything. Take something you’re passionate about and create digital downloads teaching people how to do the same. You can sell it on platforms like Etsy or Stan Store and watch the sales roll in from anywhere in the world. 

This is the ultimate example of residual income. Doing the work once and making money continually. You have no overhead, no inventory, and no shipping. Simply create your content and get it out there for all the world to enjoy. 

Find employment that offers remote positions. 

Maybe entrepreneurship isn’t for you but you still want to be able to work from anywhere. That’s totally doable. Since 2020 more and more employers are offering opportunities to work remotely and as long as they’re flexible with your location, you can still work while traveling the world or snuggling up in bed. 

No matter your desire to make money from anywhere, just be sure to know what keeps you motivated. Maybe you want to travel internationally. Perhaps you want to pay cash for your children’s college education. Or you want to rid your family of debt. Maybe you want to do great things in your community or you simply want to build your dream home. Whatever it is, find something to work towards beyond your everyday needs. 

The sky’s the limit here. What is your big, scary, overarching goal or experience you’re working for? Write it down. In big, bold, even sparkly letters, if you must, put it right in front of you. 

Seriously, write it down. Right now. I’ll wait. 

Now tape it to your computer, frame it on your desk, heck, even write it on your mirror. Put it anywhere that you will see it each and every day. And when the work feels too hard, look to this reminder to give you the energy to keep moving forward. To keep doing the work. To keep saying “yes” when all roads seem to lead to “not now”. 

It is more than possible to work from anywhere in today’s world. Find what motivates you, discover work that works for you, and enjoy the freedom of doing life on your own terms. Because life is too short to watch it fly by in a cubicle!
