I am so excited to sit down and chat with you today about giving yourself grace in an online world. Having so much of our lives and businesses on display for all to see can become a little overwhelming, especially if you’re an introvert like me. And as if having all eyes on you 24/7 isn’t stressful enough, there are also so many “rules” for showing up well. It demands a little bit of grit on our part and even more grace to learn how to show up without shutting down.

And I have to confess something to you right off the bat. I want to shut down far more than I want to show up online.

Reels and stories and daily posting and following the ever-changing algorithm and stressing over people not seeing the work you spend a lot of time creating is hard to keep up with. Mentally and emotionally. And a lot of times I just want to delete the apps from my cell phone, pick up a corded phone attached to the wall and simply call my friends and chat like it’s 1995. But as much as I’d love for connection to be much simpler, I do understand that growing as a person and as a business owner in the 21st century requires showing up online. But it doesn’t have to require our peace as well.

Your business can grow when you’re on social media, but it isn’t the only way to do it. So pick a lane that feels authentic to you and stick to it!

I hope it gives you the courage to show up on your terms and reminds you to offer grace as often as possible. Grit can take you far in life but I believe grace will take you even further.
