When it comes to growing your brand, social media marketing is arguably the most beneficial way to drive traffic to your content and gain people on your email list. Today let’s chat abot how you can use Social Media to Build an Email List!
The best part about it? It’s essentially free. While you do have to pay for advertisements (which we will chat about in a minute), you can model your entire marketing plan around social media and never pay a dime. This is truly why it’s such a great time to be alive as an entrepreneur. I can’t imagine that being the case 20 years ago!

Raise your hand if growing your online following in order to build your email list is a top priority in your business! If you’re anything like me, I know you don’t want to admit that. It feels weird to say that we think a lot about getting more attention, but in today’s online world, a large social media following is a great way to grow your business.
There, of course, are so many ways to do this, but something I have had success with recently is teaming up with others and running a fun giveaway! This gives you access to a brand new set of eyes that may never come across your account otherwise and provides connection and community for everyone involved. And as part of entering the giveaway, participants would need to sign up to join your email list! It’s a win/win!

Gone are the days when you have to have 10K+ followers to unlock the link feature for IG Stories. This new update allows anyone on the platform to link to websites within their stories.
The importance of this feature is to allow you to lead your audience to blog posts, items you’re selling, affiliate links, new podcast episodes, and you guessed it, joining your email list! Anything you want your followers to check out outside of the Instagram app can be linked to your stories for quick and easy access.
Okay, I am not going to lie to you. I have had a pretty big hate/hate relationship with running advertisements on social media, but I know how beneficial they can be to your growth, especially when growing an email list through lead magnets. So you know what I did?
I asked for help and hired an ads manager. I teach a lot about not trying to do it all alone over in my community, The Blush Pages, and it has truly been so freeing to practice what I preach. I tried figuring out ads all on my own and I fell short every single time. So I asked for help and I haven’t looked back!
I know hiring help with this isn’t in the cards for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ask a trusted friend to teach you the ropes. I would say I’d teach you, but let’s be honest, I still have a lot to learn about when it comes to social media ads!
What I do know though is that they are incredibly helpful in driving people to your content. Offer a free PDF as a lead magnet and require their email as a form of “payment” when running your ads and I can promise you that you’ll see the growth!
Get in your stories or post on your feed simply asking people to join you in their inboxes. Most times people don’t even realize I have a newsletter and that’s sometimes because I’ve never straight out asked them to join it!
I want to challenge you today to hop on your social media, share a bit about your newsletter, and ask them to sign up! Sometimes the best way to get what we want is to simply ask for it. I am going to join you in this so let’s report back to one another and share how it goes!
With all of that said, it’s important to mention that no matter how many blogs you read or courses you complete on helping you grow your audience on social media to build your email list, always remember that the most important thing you can do is to be yourself. People are craving real, authentic interactions and if you can be the person to give that to them, you will always win. Be a friend, create a community, and offer support where you can.
