As always, I have a confession to make.
When I started my first business as a photographer, I didn’t give any thought to identifying my ideal client. I was taking photos, anything and everything was my ideal subject, right?
But oh how wrong I was. It didn’t take me long to realize that if I was going to market my business and grow a loyal customer following, I had to know exactly who it was I was talking to and exactly what they wanted from me.

Newsletters, social media copy, website wording, branding, everything about your business will be driven by who your ideal client is and what they like. Keep in mind that any time you are doing messaging around your brand, you want your ideal client to be at the forefront of your mind. This is that friend that is sitting across the kitchen table from you, asking for your advice, and you are pouring into them. Anywhere you market to them, you’re going to want to keep all of these things in mind!
