Let’s look at a few reasons you started your business! Let’s uncover your “WHY” and discover where your passions truly lie!

Have you ever spent any time getting connected to the reasons why you started your business? Are you struggling to figure out where your are truly passionate? 

When you can connect to something deeper than “I just want to be able to take my family on vacation”, or “I really want to be able to eat out a couple of nights a week”, or “I would love to be able to contribute to my family financially,” when things get tough, knowing the real deepness, knowing that thing that is pushing you forward, is so much more powerful. When the going gets tough, and it will, your why is going to be what pushes you to continue moving forward. And it may even be the thing that propels you into that next step or the next level of your business. 

My why has changed a few times over the years and that’s okay. It can be ever-changing, ever-evolving as you grow and change. In the beginning, I wanted to provide freedom for my family. Financial freedom and time freedom. And while that is still true today, I dug a little deeper and discovered that my why has changed into the fact that I don’t ever want to go backwards. I never want to feel the way I did when I was younger. The feelings of uncertainty and all the emotions that went along with that is something I never want to experience again. So not going backward is huge for me and it’s the reason I keep pushing myself forward!

But enough about me. Let’s look at a few ways you can help to uncover your WHY if you’re struggling to feel connected to your purpose in business. 

Think about how you can make other people’s lives better. 

Does your product or service make people’s lives easier? Better even? It should; that’s how you stay in business! But more importantly, your reason for starting your business and sticking with it could be hiding right in your passion for helping others with the things you have to offer! 

Think back to when you were a kid. 

When you would sit around daydreaming about life, what did you dream about? What did you hope for in life as an adult? Chances are your desires then, aren’t that far away from your desires now. It’s possible that the very things you hoped your life would include back when you were young is the very thing you’re still chasing and trying to achieve today! 

Think about the things that bring you no shame. 

What is it that you would do no matter who was watching? Turn into the ultimate mama bear when someone is after your kids? Dance like no one was watching or dance even if they were? What is it that you are so passionate about that shame has no place in your story? When you love something so much, you don’t care who knows it, chances are there is a WHY and passion buried deep in that desire! 

Maybe it’s not even your WHY that you can’t get connected to. Maybe you know why you would want to start a business but you just don’t know what that would be. Maybe you know you were meant to start something new but you’re not 100% sure exactly what that looks like.

You know you were built for something greater. You know you were made for the entrepreneurial life. But you have no idea where your passions truly lie and you simply need help getting started. Let’s uncover your “WHY”.
